Digital Corpus

Digital Corpus

We are currently building the new IE Digital Corpus and aim to release its first iteration in 2023.

The web application for this new corpus is being built using popular and open technologies, including Python, Django, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The data within this corpus is to be stored in a PostgreSQL relational database and will be accessible both through the web interface and through a public web API in JSON format.

The initial group of documents will most likely be around 250 expanding to eventually contain 500 to 1,000 documents from the wider Islamicate East dating to between the 8th and 13th centuries C.E. The published documents will include: meta-data, and full transcriptions and translations. The Digital Corpus will be publicly accessible in accordance with the ERC.
