Arezou Azad and Tommy Benfey will present papers at ECIS 10 in August 2023
Dr Arezou Azad and Dr Thomas Benfey will be at ECIS 10, 21-25 August 2023 in Leiden.
Arezou Azad will present a paper on the role of Iranian-language documents in managing finances.
Tommy Benfey will present a paper on Zoroastrian priesthood’s engagement with contemporary developments in astronomical science, and how this awareness manifested itself in the Middle Persian texts they produced and passed down. The paper is part of a panel titled "Innovation and Tradition in the Literary Production of the Premodern Zoroastrian Priesthood", organised by Dr Kayla Dang (St Louis University).
