Invisible East Taster Session at UNIQ 2023

On 26th June 2023, Zaiba Patel, the Invisible East Education Adivsor, delivered a taster session for the students taking part in UNIQ 2023, the University of Oxford's access programme for state school students.

Zaiba ran a 90-min school taster session based on the curriculum the Invisible East team has been running in schools in the UK and Afghanistan over the past year and a half.

Asked to comment about the session, Zaiba says: "It was a such a pleasure to meet these wonderful young people during the Invisible East UNIQ summer school session last month. We explored a Persian source, thought about the ethics of working with unprovenanced material, and toured the Ashmolean Museum before the students presented their ideas for curating an exhibition. We were impressed with the insightful contributions made and the diverse range of objects selected.
