The Invisible East goes to Schools in Afghanistan

The Invisible East goes to Schools in Afghanistan

Since November 2022, the team has been delivering sessions on Zoom for school children in Afghanistan. So far, we held two great sessions with 40 school children from two Afghan schools.

The sessions have been a thrilling opportunity for students from Afghanistan and the UK to work together as a team. On one occasion, we were joined by pupils from the Cheney School in Oxford who had already taken part in a UK-based Invisible East sessions. During these encounters, we talked about the region and its history, drew maps, discussed poetry, created museum exhibitions, traded jokes, shared cake.

On February 1st we will hold another session at Shamsa School, Kabul, for 20 girls aged 16-18 and their teachers. Shamsa is an orphanage that provides housing, food, and education for about hundred children and we are glad to collaborate with them to deliver another engaging and interesting session.
