Invisible East co-hosted a roundtable 'Rethinking History: Archives and Documents from the Iranian World' at the Association of Iranian Studies' Fourteenth Biennial Iranian Studies Conference in Mexico City on 15 August, together with The Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Institute of Iranian Studies at the University of Toronto.
We had the opportunity to present our work on the Invisible East corpus. A subsequent discussion centred on the discipline of documentary studies within Iranian Studies was well-attended, with lively discussion and ideas being brought forward for future research.
A formal response was provided by Aria Fani, Assistant Professor and Director of Persian and Iranian Studies, University of Washington, and others.
